The Manifesta 16 team is officially in Gelsenkirchen-Ückendorf and right in the heart of the action!

We’re busy putting together a massive cultural programme for the whole Ruhr area for Summer 2026. Together with you, we want to create something brand new that will shape the neighborhood long after the summer is over. As part of this journey, we are transforming old churches into vibrant new hubs for the community – and you can help us shape them.

We’re always curious about what moves your neighbourhood and what you are still wishing for.

Kommse Ücken is a street party and festival held four times a year on Bochumer Straße, organised by local volunteers and artists. The next edition will take place on 14 March 2026 Starting at 18.00. As a cross-marketing event, Kommse Ücken is a good opportunity for Manifesta to network with the local population and raise its profile in the cultural scene around Bochumer Straße.
